I appreciate this… I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints and feel this is greatly beneficial. Within the church we focus on the application of the gospel which is essential. There has been a lot less focus on the preaching with a focus on how to answer what we believe and theology. That’s mostly because we will always find a point where the conversation can become contentious and that’s something we strive to avoid. However, we can do better by understanding each other’s beliefs and reflecting on the word of God as these good folks were trying to do.

Been bingeing your videos. Really a blessing for me. Love the point you make near 8:59 and def needs to be applied in my own life.

LDS are deeply grounded in debate issues. Christians need to know their opponents differences in scripture because it is sometimes just a few twisted Bible verses.

So the whole argument about works saving you or grace saving you is a bit silly in this video, because the Bible seemingly contradicts itself. Several prophets and Jesus himself give commandments and lay out expectations of works that Christians should do. But then if grace alone saves, why spend so much time teaching what works we should do? Perry, you seem to admit and understand that Jesus expects us to live a certain way, but how can you believe that if it really doesn't matter? If everyone is saved no matter what they do in their life, then God's plan for us is to just love however we want and essentially just wait till death so we can be saved? I really respect the great conversation here, but you seem to be pointing out the missionaries points as big contradictions when your argument is just as contradicting (in my opinion).

At 32:38 you are saying that lds folks only believe in Joseph Smith because be claimed to have done a miracle (translating the Book of Mormon). However, the belief of Joseph being a prophet doesn't come from just his claim to have done it, it comes from reading the book and asking God. THEN, after recieving a confirmation from God that it is true, it would lead you to know that Joseph was called by God, because the fruit of his work (translating the Book of Mormon) was of God.

To be specific at this particular dialogue. Martin Luther left the *Catholic church to establish the Lutheran Church. Not “the church of Christianity”. This older gentleman is using rhetorical efficacy to make a non-argumentative point that scripture may be fallible, when in fact, Martin Luther left the Catholic Church alone.

Preston, I started crying watching this. You laboring for Christ. Striving hard to do what He called you, searching in your spirit for the right questions, searching for a way to introduce Christ. Just simply trying to do the work of an evangelist. Trying to keep a conversation going. Trusting and asking God internally to help you explain Him and who He is.

Thank you for sharing this! I’ve been praying and asking God how to witness to the LDS, in a loving and kind manner without arguing. God has put a burden on my heart to witness to the LDS and I’ve been honestly struggling with not laughing, not rolling my eyes or gagging at a lot of what they believe. I was born and raised LDS but I always knew it was false. My entire family on my mom’s side are all LDS and I’m a born again Christian. I never paid any attention to the Mormon gospel doctrine growing up so I never knew most of the stuff they believe and teach. I’m also aware that I need to know the Bible the TEUE word of God, along with researching the Mormon doctrine (they don’t just use the Book of Mormon, they use like 3-4 other books along with the Bible. God has been telling me to study all of it so I can explain and disciple so that they understand better. It’s so much deeper than just what the Book of Mormon teaches- like all the demonic Masonic rituals they do in their Mormon temples. It’s so deep. And I needed and really appreciate this video with the analogies and example of love by letting them talk and showing them respect. I’m really struggling with that, so thank you! God is saving a LOT of the LDS people right now. So many of them are such sweet and friendly people that are living in deception. It grieves me … I pray this video reaches everyone who needs to hear it- all the Mormons and also the body of Christ so that we share the true Gospel WITH LOVE!!! I think a lot of Christians fall short of that including myself. Love this so so much!! All GLORY TO GOD!!

There is no contradiction between the Book of Mormon and the Bible. The words not passing away does not say that people can't reject the words, prophets and leaders. Were God's words not there before Jesus? The people rejected the word.

This is revealing on how I could have done better when they spoke with me. They gave me the 2 hours broken into 4 visits because when my questions got tough they said “look at the time” lol 😂 but basically on the last visit they said no one can be saved unless they’re baptized specifically by the Mormon church which was so mind blowing to me. It’s so hard to get through to them because of how close but twisted their doctrine is to true Christianity.

Very good teaching in this video. Really shows how we should witness to those that are lost. There is a reason behind people's decisions as we see here. I was raised thinking that I was special because I was "Lamanite". Boy, I was naive. I am now a Christian and I have found the true meaning of grace.

Once you had him flummoxed, he resorted to emotion, mixing Jesus when it’s clear the LDS group view him more as a brother deity rather than the only Son of God. I have a witness coming up Sunday, gonna use this as a template. They just cannot reconcile scripture with their book.
